Johanna Marcadé – KopfKino presents

Last summer, my friends Johanna Marcadé and Bruno Tolić, organizers of Novo Doba festival, helped me produce this silkscreened poster, a portrait of singer Valerie June, at their Zemun studio, near Belgrade. — As Bruno put it, “This is yet the beginning of a great cycle…” (I hope so.)

L’été dernier, mes amis Johanna Marcadé et Bruno Tolić, organisateurs du festival Novo Doba, m’ont aidée à produire cette affiche, un portrait en sérigraphie de la chanteuse Valerie June, à leur atelier à Zemun, près de Belgrade. — Comme l’a dit Bruno, “C’est seulement le début d’un grand cycle…” (j’espère bien.)

You will find here several media and shapes for the animals and people that have been inhabiting my inner world lately: sketches, paintings and a mural I’ve been working on these past months, weeks, days. The novo doba comic posted earlier this week is also a result of this “obsession”. Mentioning novo doba festival, astute observers will recognize a nice poster silkscreened by its founder team that slipped into one of the photographs: it is a song written by Mileta Mijatović and illustrated by Johanna Marcadé, ‘Čopor’ (the herd). Voici une déclinaison en plusieurs formats des animaux et des gens qui peuplent mon imaginaire, traduits sous forme d’esquisses, de tableaux et d’une fresque sur lesquels j’ai travaillé ces derniers temps. La bédé de novo doba postée en début de semaine est aussi le résultat de cette “obsession”. D’ailleurs en parlant du festival novo doba, les observateurs les plus perspicaces sauront reconnaître une superbe affiche sérigraphiée par ses fondateurs et qui s’est glissée dans l’une des photographies : il s’agit d’une chanson de Mileta Mijatović illustrée par Johanna Marcadé, Čopor (le troupeau).
